Some projects we have been involved in:

Mount Ruapehu Lahar Warning System

The popular Whakapapa skifield is located on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu, an active volcano which has erupted several times in recent years. Using eruption monitoring information provided by GNS, Cybernetic developed a warning system to alert both skifield staff and members of the public to the possibility of a lahar (volcanic mudflow). Being potentially critical to public safety, the system utilises redundant master stations in different locations, as well as multiple communications paths and alerting methods.

We continue to work with both DOC and the skifield operators to provide regular maintenance and ongoing support.

Cavotec Vacuum Mooring Systems

Cavotec Moormaster manufacture a unique vacuum ship mooring system used in a number of ports around the world. Cybernetic have supplied commissioning engineering services for several Cavotec installation and refit projects in Australia and Canada

Yamato Checkweigher Datalogging Systems

In partnership with tna Solutions, we have developed a serial interface to Yamato checkweighers, enabling weight data to be written to an SQL database or displayed on an HMI screen. The Yamato units use a proprietary serial protocol, requiring custom communication code - something we have considerable experience with. If you have a tricky interfacing / comms problem, let us know - we may well be able to help!

Tunnel Boring Machine

This pipe-jacking machine was used to install a relocated stormwater main 20m below Auckland's Albert St, as part of the enabling works for the City Rail Link project. As the machine had not been used for some years it required a significant upgrade prior to the job - we were able to assist with modifying and expanding the control circuits, making additions to the PLC program, and creating new HMI screens.
